I have had problems playing games with my laptop after i formatted it.?

after formatting,i installed the drivers but up till this present moment the DISPLAY DRIVER have failed to intall.it always tell me that one or more files that are required for this installation are missing or corrupt.I RAN "dxdiag" to check the display properties and i noticed that out that the DIRECT DRAW,3D AND AGP TEXTURE ACCELERATION are not enabled.i also found out that The system is using the generic video driver.How can i install the video driver provided by the hardware manufacturer?pls help me out cos i have seriously missed playing my games...
