Should we get married?

First off, I'm not doubting whether or not to marry this guy- that's definitely going to happen. What we're worried about is the date. Currently, our date is set for 11-11-11, a little less than a year and a half from now. We know the colors (mint and lavender), the maid of honor (my cousin/best friend in the world other than my fiance), and where (the church we attend and the reception at a local banquet hall). We also know that we want a small wedding with only family and close friends but a huge reception. However, we're not sure if we actually want to have it so soon. Logically, we should wait- we're both still in school and will be for the first year (or more, depending on the situation) of our marriage and we probably won't be able to live together (our schools are about an hour away from each other give or take due to traffic and we only have one car). Neither of us have a house, but he has an apartment through his school. It sounds better to wait, but he's not sure if he wants to and I definitely don't. We haven't officially announced the engagement yet (my parents still don't know) but the maid of honor and a few close family members and friends know. The reason: my mother hates his guts, which will probably not change, no matter how long we wait. (But my dad loves him and his family loves me). Argument for our date: the less time I have to hear my mother whine that "engagements can be broken." Argument against: her initial response will be "Are you pregnant?" to which, I will have to desperately try to convince her that I am not. Another thing we don't really want to hear is "you're so young," (I won't be legally allowed to drink on 11-11-11) which we will definitely hear from my side of the family, even though we were at my cousin's wedding earlier this week and my fiance and I have been together longer than the newlyweds have known each other. What do you think? (And yes, he's okay with me posting this... we're trying to get an opinion that isn't biased because they know us)
